The Ashland Penguins ended a long winless drought and nipped the
Duluth-Superior Dukes 3 to 2 at Dodger Stadium in a hard fought
contest.
 
Ashland plated all the runs they needed in the 7th inning scoring 3 runs on 4
base hits.  Aaron Hill led off and started the rally when he delivered a
one-base hit.  Omar Vizquel next to the plate and he lined a single.  After
an out was recorded, Garrett Jones stepped in and he delivered a single.
Angel Pagan came up and he doubled.  Marco Scutaro came to the plate and
reached on an error.  Derrek Lee continued the rally and grounded into a
double play.  Duluth-Superior tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
 
Kevin Correia(3-4) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Correia
got help from Drew Storen who was credited with his 5th save.  Chris
Carpenter(2-5) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 3 runs and 11 hits in 8
innings.
