At Dodger Stadium, the Duluth-Superior faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Josh Johnson(6-1) finally bested his Duluth-Superior
counterpart, Jason Vargas(5-5), by the score of 1 to 0.

The winning run, and the only run, was scored by Diamond in the top of the 2nd
inning. That early scoring was all that Johnson needed. Duluth-Superior
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Johnson got relief help from Brian Wilson who gained credit for his 10th save.
Vargas ended up with the loss. He allowed just 1 hit and 3 walks in 7 and
1/3 innings.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Mike Swanson
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
