Albert Pujols hit a homerun as the Portland Beavers beat the Duluth-Superior
Dukes by a score of 7 to 2.

Duluth-Superior fell behind quickly as the Portland offense came through in
the first inning with 2 runs. Ian Kinsler opened up the inning nicely when
he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Chris Coghlan came to the plate
and doubled. Mark Reynolds then would ground out. Pujols got his chance to
keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Portland ended up with 12
hits for the game while Duluth-Superior had 7.

The winning pitcher was Josh Beckett(3-7) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings.
Chris Carpenter(8-3) took the loss. His ERA ballooned from 2.68 to 3.19 as
he allowed 7 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.

'We really needed this win' said David Cho. 'That first drink of water at the
end of a drought sure does taste good!'
