WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Alexei Ramirez robbed Rafael Furcal of a base hit.
Wandy Rodriguez allowed Tony Cieszynski to rest his bullpen, tossing a
complete game at Dodger Stadium as the Hoth Rebels beat the Duluth-Superior
Dukes by the count of 5 to 3.
In the top of the 6th inning Hoth scored 3 runs when they came up with 4 base
hits. The critical plate appearance was by Michael Cuddyer who disappointed
the partisan crowd when he doubled plating two runs. Duluth-Superior was
retired without difficulty in the bottom of the 9th.
Rodriguez(1-0) allowed 3 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Chris
Carpenter(0-1). He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.
