30,623 fans watched an exciting game at Dodger Stadium.  The Duluth-Superior
Dukes topped the Belmont Park Met Milers by the slimmest of margins, 2 to
1.
 
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Duluth-Superior was
victorious in the 10th inning.  Carlos Gonzalez ripped a one-base hit.  James
Loney followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  After another out,
Skip Schumaker stepped in and he laced a base-hit making Duluth-Superior the
winners and sending the 30,623 fans home happy.  Duluth-Superior had only 5
hits for the game.  
 
The win went to Darren Oliver(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. David
Hernandez(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and
no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
