Michael Pineda retired 10 batters on strikeouts at Dodger Stadium where the
Chuckanut Bay Tubas beat the Duluth-Superior Dukes by the score of 2 to
1.
 
Pineda(5-0) was in control of the game from the outset.  He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 7 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from
2.23 to 2.01.  Duluth-Superior tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
 
The losing pitcher was Jason Vargas(1-2).  He surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk in
7 innings.  Pineda was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I
felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight.  But, I had great support behind
me and I just threw what was called.  That was an extremely well called
game!'
