In a dramatic ending the very potent Franklin Kites staged a comeback and held
on to win over the Duluth-Superior Dukes by the count of 4 to 3.

Franklin had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 5 base
hits. Jimmy Rollins led off and keyed the rally when he laced a base-knock.
Rollins was safe on a stolen base. Geoff Blum then cleared the fences for a
two-run home run. After an out was recorded, Ryan Hanigan came to the plate
and ripped a base-hit. Neil Walker came up to bat and smacked a single.
Reed Johnson extended the rally and laced a single to load the bases. Jay
Bruce came next and he grounded into a double play. Franklin finished with
13 hits while Duluth-Superior ended up with 8.

The winning pitcher was Alfredo Aceves(6-5) who allowed 2 runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Joel Hanrahan got the save, his 31st. Huston Street(0-5) was the
losing pitcher in relief.

Chris Walsh was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office
after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just
sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating
wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
