48,921 fans were treated to a fine game at Dodger Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Duluth-Superior Dukes ended a
long winless drought and won by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
 
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Duluth-Superior ended
up winning it in the 11th inning.  Carlos Gonzalez doubled.  Mark Trumbo was
next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Skip Schumaker then laced a one-base
hit giving Duluth-Superior the victory and sending the 48,921 home-town fans
home happy.  Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night.  
 
Ryan Webb(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Alfredo Simon(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.
