Jeff Niemann came through with a solid 6 innings at Dodger Stadium as the
Franklin Kites beat the Duluth-Superior Dukes by the count of 2 to 1.
 
The deciding run was scored by Franklin in the top of the 8th.  Paul Janish
drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Josh Thole stepped in and he laced a
base-knock.  Will Rhymes then worked the squeeze play to perfection.  Paul
Konerko was up next and he drew a walk.  Jay Bruce was next to the plate, but
was promptly struck out.  Duluth-Superior had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.  
 
Jamey Wright(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Craig Breslow recorded the save, his 5th.  Anibal Sanchez(11-7)
ended up with the loss.
