The Duluth-Superior Dukes nipped the Meridian Trojans in 11 innings 3 to 2 at
Dodger Stadium in a hard fought contest.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings.  Duluth-Superior was victorious
in the 11th inning.  After two outs Carlos Gonzalez laced a single.  James
Loney was next and he doubled giving Duluth-Superior the victory and sending
the 26,900 home-town fans home happy.  Duluth-Superior rapped out 8 hits for
the night.  
 
Jon Rauch(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. James
McDonald(2-3) absorbed the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 hits and no
walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
