First baseman James Loney had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the smoking-hot
Duluth-Superior Dukes topped the Franklin Kites in 11 innings by a score of 7
to 6 at Dodger Stadium.
 
The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings.  Finally,
Duluth-Superior pulled the game out in the 11th inning.  After two were out
Carlos Gonzalez doubled.  Loney was next and he laced a base-knock giving
Duluth-Superior the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
Duluth-Superior finished with 17 hits while Franklin ended up with 8.  
 
The victory was credited to Nelson Figueroa(3-0) who went 1 inning, allowing
no runs. Joe Smith(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2
hits and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.  
 
No one has been able to stop Duluth-Superior lately as they lengthened their
winning streak to 8 games.
